Abstract: A simple and efficient method for the synthesis of 1-[3-(3-fluorophenyl)[1,8]naphthyridn-2-yl]-3-(2-oxo-2H-chromenyl)-H-4-pyrazolecarbaldehydes 4 from 3-[2-(3-(3-fluorophenyl)[1,8]-naphthyridin-2-yl)ethanhydrazonyl]-2H-2-chromenones (hydra¬≠zones) 3 in the presence of DMF-POCl3 (Vilsmeier-Haack reagent) using silica gel as solid support under microwave irradiation is described. The structural assignments to compounds 3 and 4 are based on their elemental analyses and spectral data. Compounds 4 have been tested for their antibacterial activity.
