CITATION MAPPING OF PUBLISHED LITERATURE ON EMBELIA RIBES

Title: CITATION MAPPING OF PUBLISHED LITERATURE ON EMBELIA RIBES

Authors: Mittal, Rekha; Ahmad, Moin; Singh, Gian

Abstract: Vidang, a well known drug in ayurvedic system of medicine, is obtained from the medicinal plant, Embelia ribes. Through citation mapping, a comprehensive bibliography has been compiled to study the research work done on this plant in India. Citation maps allow browsing through titles, and provides the users with some directions into the information available. It may be useful for researchers to identify areas where there
could.be more scientific study.

Title: CYBERINFRASTRUCTURE: AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EDUCATION AND IMPLICATIONS FOR RESEARCH LIBRARIES

Authors: Natarajan, M.

Abstract: Deals with the role of research libraries and the concept,of
Cyberinfrastructure with its definitions. The digital library (DL)
movement with few examples in Indian Scenario has been
explained. The need for human infrastructure due to the
advancement of Cyberinfrastructure has been envisaged.
The goals and visions are enumerated with building a
successful Cyberinfrastructure. Some of the existing
examples are given at International level. The activities and
uses of Cyberinfrastructure are given for college level
educators; undergraduate and graduate students with the
motivation for the database developers are highlighted with
the future trend in research libraries. Concluded that
Cyberinfrastructure has to be taken as a research challenge
and advanced Cyberinfrastructure activity must be brought
in for better electronic access
Authors: Kademani, B S; Kumar, Vijai; Kumar, Anil; Sagar, Anil; Mohan, Lalit; Surwase, Ganesh; Gaderao, C R

Abstract: Attempts to analyse quantitatively 475 papers published by
the Bio-Organic Division of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre
during 1972-2002 in various domains like Synthesis (202),
Bio-organic Chemistry (loo), Biotechnology (70), Natural
Products (53), Waste Management (30). Supra-molecular
Chemistry (18) and Organic Spectroscopy (2), The highest
number of publications in a year were 38 in 2001. The
average number of publications per year was 15.3 and the
highest collaboration coefficient 1.0 was found in the years
1972,1976-1977,1980- 1985,1987,1989- 1990 and 1993.
The most prolific authors were: A. Banerji (125), V. R.

INFERENCE ENGINE FOR DEVICES OF COLON CLASSIFICATION IN Al BASED AUTOMATED CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM.

Title: INFERENCE ENGINE FOR DEVICES OF COLON CLASSIFICATION IN Al BASED AUTOMATED CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM.

Authors: Panigrahi, Pijushkanti; Prasad, A. R. D.

Abstract: This paper presents the use of various devices enunciated
in Colon Classification (CC) to sharpen any isolate idea,
especially when a new subject enters into the universe of
subjects. Discusses their helpfulness in the automatic
classification system, the Viswamitra, designed using Artificial
Intelligence techniques with the help of PROLOG language.
Discusses the procedure of building numbers for compound
isolates using superimposition devices, alphabetical devices,
geographic devices etc. Some suggestions.are also made
to rethink about the rule for alphabetical devices. For
example, the system suggests to pick up the first three letters
of a single worded term, first two letters from each word of a
binomial term and the first letter from each word of a
multinomial term to build isolate number using alphabetical
device. Suggests some modifications in Colon Classification
so that the concept of Analytico Synthetic Classification is
used elaborately for information retrieval in the age of
ontology.
