Merrill&lt;/b&gt;] has led to over exploitation and threat to this plant in the wild. Therefore, large scale production of this plant through micropropagation technique is required for continuous supply of its alkaloids.

Ulcers are thought to be due to imbalances in gastric offensive and defensive mucosal factors. Inspite of numerous drugs available, peptic ulcer is still a major cause of morbidity.
