&lt;br/&gt;Abstract: Ninety-two&#xD;
doctoral dissertations submitted to the University&#xD;
of Burdwan, India from 1981 to 1990 by the&#xD;
scholars of mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, philosophy and&#xD;
political science are taken as the source material. A total number of 11, 228&#xD;
references were appended to the 92 theses, of which, 6844 were journal&#xD;
articles. Ranked list of the journals used in different subjects and their&#xD;
branches are prepared. The Bradford Multipliers are calculated. distribution of&#xD;
the journals in three zones are made and the number of references in each zone&#xD;
is then noted and compared with those of other zones. Applicability of Bradford's law in different disciplines is tested.
